What Happen To TVMM??

Hey Team Voice!!!! I am sorry that I have not post the monthly Team Voice member for this month. The person I sent a e-mail to did not respond back. What to do now??? And no one came up with a challenge. Which I do have a challenge this month with out fail.

I am wondering how can we all stay connected and be able to help each other stay motivated for Jan. 2010.

Also since Trainer Bob has been posting daily challenges I am going to copy them and post them here. He sometimes doesn't get one in everyday since they are filming the next Biggest Looser season.

Team Voice Team In Training Challenge For July 2009 Extra Magic Miles For July
This challenge is for everyone. Beginners, novice ,experts all alike.

I want everyone to try to do 100 burpees for the month. What is a burpee. {no it's not standing around burping} here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c_Dq_NCzj8M
Mileage I know we all have been struggling with mileage. I am a victim of that. We have 6 months to go, and we all should be in a groove and comfortable with a long distance mileage. Specially those of us doing the full.

SO for mileage I am looking for 100 for the month. And homework and please post your answers. Why are you struggling?? What is the triggers to keep you from getting out the door or on the treadmill??

  1. Um I have been getting in on average 70+ miles the last couple of months. I do get out the door not because I feel like I have too. It's because I WANT TO. I had knee surgery in March and I am still running. What's everyone elses excuss. Let's go guys. It's summer time and the weather is fine. Gotta love Shaggy!:) GO TEAM VOICE! MANY GOALS,ONE VOICE! DO NOT FORGET!

  2. I can honestly say that after 90+ mile walk/runs last month I will not hit 100 miles this month. It was just way too much and my body and mind are both paying right now. That and I did all miles outside.

That being said, my goal for the month is to work on the long distances...I have a mental block for anything longer than a 5K right now...Need to get over that.

I'll continue to do my strength training, yoga, plyometrics and pilates as well...These have all helped me get stronger and I am starting to see progress now.

What are my excuses right now?
    1. It's too darn hot outside...108 today, 113 on Saturday and heat index advisories through the weekend. I run outside I die...no joke!
    2. I hate the treadmill...No really I hate it and my gym only allows 60 minute programs so it doesn't work for long runs at all. You get in a groove then have to stop and reset everything...I don't like that. And, did I mention that I really hate the treadmill?

I will overcome these challenges and get my rear in gear. I know that I need to get going on the longer distances. I do not want repeats of the last two half marathons where I just never felt great on the course. I want to feel great on the course and I will!

  3. I am struggling with me. It seems I just don't do it. I know I can but I don't. I make up every excuse under the sun. I know better.

I have a trigger and it is the teen drama. It's awful. And after being mentally beat up you fell wore out.

I do not like the treadmill either. I bought one so i do not have to fight them in the gym.
and it's hot as you know what here too.

My running buddy has well not been into it, and that kinda makes me not want to get out the door.

    See another excuse!!! haha
I need to be pushed sometimes. Really!!!

  4. At this point my only excuse is me.

16, 16, 16, 16 weeks till I run a full.... Man, what's up with me and the High School Musical references this week! LOL

I love any machine or road in which I can get running mileage in on at this point. Early May there was no doubt in my mind that I would complete a full marathon (running) in a decent time. Now, well, I've got some doubts till I can get the mileage up and the weight down. Took a good step yesterday, now I need to build on it.

Not sure if I'll hit 100 miles running this month as my next building block is a 13+ mile week, then 15, then 20. However, I'll add in my walk mileage and elliptical to see if I'm even in the ball park. ;-)

I incorporated Many Goals, Once Voice into a presentation to our leadership team today...do I have to pay a royalty? LOL It just seemed to fit with what I was proposing, so I went for it....

  5. I had a great June, and am now really on track to take advantage of the time left between now and January. Seems like maybe everyone needs to get creative about building up miles. Do only one long run a week, and do shorter, faster runs during the week? For a long run on the treadmill, do 60 mins then hop over to the elliptical/bike and do 30 mins, and then go back to the treadmill? And if you need a kick, go to the forums and ask for one!!!!
